HeartSine Samaritan 500P: what it is and who it is for
The HeartSine Samaritan PAD 500P is a semi-automated external defibrillator designed for public places and workplaces. It is one of the lightest AEDs available at 1.1 kg, carries an IP56 rating against dust and water, and is simple enough for an untrained bystander to use.
What sets the 500P apart is its CPR Advisor. Using impedance cardiogram (ICG) technology it measures the effectiveness of chest compressions and tells the rescuer in real time to “Push harder”, “Push slower” or that they are giving “Good compressions”.
The Pad-Pak cartridge combines battery and electrode pads in one part with one expiry date, so maintenance is a single replacement every four years.
